Steve Alonzi

Steve Alonzi works as a part time Assistant Professional at Pelican Preserve in Fort Myers. In addition, Steve teaches social studies at Estero High School in Estero, Fla. He also has served as head boys' and girls' tennis coach (13 years with the girls' team and seven with the boys' team).

Steve earned a B.S. in business administration from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., and a MAT from Charleston Southern University in Charleston, S.C.

"I began playing tennis in 1974 and have played on and off for 35 years. I played two years of varsity high school tennis and two years at the community college level," Steve says. "I am currently ranked 4.0 by USTA.

"Although I have played and coached for many years, I am self-taught. I didn't take my first lesson/clinic until I was in my mid-30s," Steve says. "Looking back, I wish I would have enlisted the help of a USPTA pro at a younger age.

"I have been certified for over 7 years and look forward to spreading my love for the game to young and old alike," he says.
